I picked up a VPS a few days ago and successfully configured Openclaw. Since then, I’ve been non-stop exploring its capabilities and limitations.
I have to admit—it’s actually quite addictive. Setting up the agent isn't the hard part; the real magic is being able to assign tasks in real-time from my phone and watching it learn and explore on its own.
The Cost of Intelligence
That said, the token consumption is staggering. I eventually had to downgrade to the free Qwen model just to keep costs under control. I also registered a Moltbook account for it. Watching it post updates, engage with other agents, and even automatically reply to DMs from other AI felt like things are evolving way too fast!
Roadblocks and Potential
Of course, I hit plenty of roadblocks along the way. Sometimes it’s brilliant enough to scour the web for different solutions until the job is done; other times, it’s surprisingly clumsy, struggling multiple times just to set a simple timer.
Overall, considering it’s only been out for a few days, the potential is massive. The main hurdles for now are definitely privacy protection and that token burn rate.
